Save a Life: Control the Bleed

Class Description

This potentially life-saving course teaches students effective bleeding control; how to estimate blood loss, properly use compression bandages, apply tourniquets, and pack wounds; ways to deal with penetrating injuries to the torso; how to identify shock in victims and properly treat it; and options for trauma kits. Since over one-third of all pre-hospital deaths are due to severe bleeding and the average EMS response time is double the time it takes to bleed to death from severe arterial bleeding, this is an imperative course for everyone to take. Ages 18 and over.
